DP World PGTI President's Kapil Dev’s Interview to The Hindu presents golf as both a personal passion and a national sporting opportunity. In his second innings after cricket, he shared golf gave him peace, independence and renewed purpose. As DP World PGTI president, he now wants Indian golfers to receive better infrastructure, prize money, visibility and professional support. He argues that golf should not be compared with cricket, but cricket’s success shows what strong administration and facilities can achieve. His biggest concern is the shortage of golf courses, especially in smaller cities, where future champions may be waiting. Kapil believes talent can emerge from anywhere if boys and girls are given access, coaching and tournaments. He also supports leagues, corporate funding and CSR participation to help players earn a livelihood. For him, India must admire sports beyond medals and build systems that make sport a career. His core message is simple: create opportunities, and Indian golf can produce world champions globally very soon.
