Spain are the favourites to win the 2026 World Cup. And I think yes, this team is heading into this FIFA WC to repeat their 2010 campaign. They won Euro 2024. They won Olympic gold in Paris. Now they're coming for the World Cup. No men's team in history has ever held all three at the same time. Spain wants to change that. Coach Luis de la Fuente has done something really impressive with this team. This team's usual formation is 4-3-3. Rodri sits at the base of midfield – probably the best midfielder in the world right now. He controls the rhythm of the game, breaks up counterattacks, and keeps the ball moving better than almost anyone in football today. Pedri and Gavi run the game around him. Up front, Lamine Yamal and Nico Williams are arguably the best winger duo in world football right now. The full squad has some serious quality across every position – Unai Simón and David Raya as goalkeepers, Cubarsí and Laporte in defence, and a forward line of Dani Olmo, Mikel Oyarzabal, Ferran Torres and Yamal. In the group phase, they'll play Cabo Verde, Saudi Arabia, and Uruguay. Spain should come through comfortably. This squad is built to win a World Cup. Can Spain make history in 2026?
