Every year, the textile industry generates over 90 million tons of waste, of which less than 1% is recycled. Meanwhile, 52% of the industry’s emissions come from a single step: dyeing. To address these challenges, deeptech companies like Syntetica (nylon chemical recycling back to virgin-grade quality) and EverDye (bio-based dyeing reducing energy and water impact), both supported by RAISE Sherpas, are already delivering concrete solutions. The stake today is clear: building strong partnerships with textile industry players to turn these innovations into new production standards at scale. To tackle this, we co-hosted an exclusive breakfast with Asterion Ventures, “Textile: driving sustainability through value chain innovation" bringing together the CEOs of EverDye and Syntetica with Sustainability and Innovation leaders from major fashion brands. At RAISE Sherpas, this is at the core of what we do: accelerating the growth of our startups by connecting them directly with industry decision-makers. Over breakfast, we dove into the real challenges of scaling these innovations: integrating them into complex value chains, aligning stakeholders across the board, navigating the dilemma of Asia-based supply chains, and closing the gap on price parity with conventional solutions. Many thanks to Marco Bertone and Philippe Berlan for the quality of the discussion, and to all participants. And special thanks to Louise Colin, Marine Reygrobellet and the Asterion Ventures team for organizing the event. Cc Anne Sophie, Jade, Eugénie, Rebecca, Laure, Ulysse, Manoë, Lise & Célia
