Behind every cup of coffee are farmers on the front lines of climate change. 🌏 Last month at the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Food System Forum in Manila, Philippines, our Vietnam country director, Thiet Nguyen Van, discussed the future of the coffee supply chain in Vietnam. The global coffee industry is under real pressure, from climate-driven yield volatility and fluctuating international prices that hit smallholder farmers the hardest. The solution to these climate pressures starts with how we grow—moving from conventional agriculture to climate-smart and regenerative farming practices that restore soil health, strengthen crops, protect biodiversity and water resources, and improve farmers' livelihoods. Thiet also shared how we’re exploring beyond the traditional supply chain to explore new frontiers in carbon projects and cross-sector collaboration.
