Koralm Railway: Freight sets the pace 🛤️ Six weeks before the first passengers board, freight is already rolling on the Koralm Railway – just as it did 200 years ago when rail transport began with goods. 🚂 The new line cuts the Villach South–Graz route to two-thirds of the distance and half the time, unlocking faster and more efficient logistics. 🚅 Thanks to the flatter profile, many trains can now run with one locomotive instead of two – offering more payload and saving around 300,000 train-kilometres per year. 🍃 With the Koralm tunnel strengthening the Baltic–Adriatic axis, Austria’s southern corridor gains around 30% more capacity.
