⚠️ Current rail service disruptions in Austria and Germany ⚠️ Rail freight operations are currently affected by significant capacity constraints in Austria and Germany. On Austria’s Western Line, services between Linz and St. Valentin have been severely disrupted since 16 July following damage to the overhead line and signalling system in the Asten/St. Florian area. Some sections remain closed, and operations are continuing under emergency conditions. In Germany, capacity is also limited due to ongoing works on the Passau–Nuremberg corridor, the closure of the right-bank Rhine route between Wiesbaden and Cologne, additional works in the Fulda area and the closure of the Hanau–Giessen alternative route. These restrictions may result in delays, congestion and changes to scheduled services. The RCG task force is monitoring the situation closely, coordinating with infrastructure managers and assessing available diversion options.
