Associate Scientist at Galapagos

It has been over 2 years since I did an internship at Leiden University in the Netherlands. Now I am pleased to share with you the scientific outcomes of the synthetic-biological research that I performed in cooperation with great colleagues including: Jim Voorneveld and dr. Bogdan (Bobby) Florea. Personally, this article will be a great memory of that time. A period in my scientific development when I shaped my interests and understood the beauty of discovering the unknown. All of this, at the amazing #LeidenUniversity, where I could explore the uniqueness of the country from it’s core. It was very intensive three months of work in the exciting interdisciplinary field of chemical biology, when I managed to synthesize chemical probes for Olaparib drug and evaluate their usability in the cellular setting. All of this was possible thanks to great mentorship and tutoring of Bogdan (Bobby) Florea (biochemical part), as well as invaluable guidance that I received from Jim Voorneveld and prof. Dmitri Filippov (organic chemistry). Thank you Berend Gagestein for your helpful guidance in the synthesis of photo-affinity linkers! Congratulations to all other co-authors. It was worth waiting to see the publication in this shape! I wish you all a pleasant reading of the publication!
