After positive news from Germany last week when the Bundestag voted to reverse the 2024 increase in the Air Ticket Tax, Philippe TABAROT, France’s Transport Minister, just announced a drop in the Solidarity tax from 7.4 EUR to 2.63 EUR on 26 domestic Public Service Obligation routes as planned in the 2025 Finance law after validation by the European Commission. While we salute this decision, further #taxation alleviation is necessary to ensure French #aviation increases its #competitiveness. The latter represented a recurrent discussion topic in recent meetings in Paris, Amsterdam, and the Hague with key industry stakeholders, including two major European airports: Royal Schiphol Group, AEROPORTS DE PARIS. We also shared our analysis on European #connectivity, how it can be affected by #taxation, as well as our #decarbonization roadmap and the need for a scale up in Sustainable Aviation Fuel (#SAF) production.
