Many thanks to the journalists for their careful research and for this important text. It is both moving and painful to read. The article sheds light on a chapter of Swiss migration history that deserves much more public attention: the racist discrimination faced by Tamil refugees in the early years of their migration, and the public and media discourses that shaped perceptions of this community. As someone who has worked on Tamil Hindu practice in Switzerland, I found this text especially resonant. The text does not allow us to place these events safely in the past.
