🧾 Major Change for Flemish Renewables: GSC Loss During Negative Prices Starts April 1, 2026! Flanders' new rule denies Green Electricity Certificates (GSCs) for electricity produced in quarter-hours with negative day-ahead prices—impacting solar, wind, and other assets over 200 kW (new) or 400 kW (existing). What are the exact changes: - Reduce the threshold from '6 consecutive hours' to '1 quarter-hour' (any 15-minute period with a negative price). - Remove the start-date restriction: the rule will apply to all installations receiving green or CHP certificates, regardless of their commissioning date. -Lower the small-installation exemption from 500 kW to 400 kW (and 200 kW for installations commissioned from 1 January 2026). As an O&M provider, this will have an impact on a part of our portfolio. Solutions We are thinking about the following solutions : -Dynamic Curtailment: Forecast-driven inverter control to ramp down or self-consume during negatives. This solution will require EMS installation. -Battery Storage: Study the possibility to install battery to load energy during negative-price windows. We would like to know how you anticipate such a change? Let's discuss in comments. #FlandersGSC #Renewables #SolarEnergy #NegativePrices #EnergyTransition
