✨ As the PhD Council represents all PhD candidates at Radboudumc, we think it’s important that you know our faces. ✨ Today, we would like to introduce you to our member Lianne van Bussel! Lianne is in the 4th year of her PhD 🎓 at the Department of Pharmacy, Pharmacology, and Toxicology. Her project focuses on improving dose recommendations for pediatrics, with a specific focus on neonates 🧬👶, aiming to support safer and more effective clinical practice. Lianne joined the PhD Council in September 2025 🗓️ as part of the Social Committee 🤝. She was inspired to join after hearing enthusiastic stories from a friend, and was motivated by the opportunity to connect with PhD candidates across different departments and strengthen the PhD community. What she enjoys most about her work is discussing research with people from diverse perspectives 💡🌍 and seeing her work translate into clinical impact. The least enjoyable part? ICT struggles 😅 Within the council, Lianne is committed to fostering more connection between PhD candidates across departments 🤝✨, helping to build a more integrated and supportive PhD community. Her life motto? “Enjoy the little things in life, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.” – Robert Brault 🌿 Outside of work, Lianne enjoys cooking 🍳, windsurfing 🏄‍♀️, cycling 🚴‍♀️, and walking 🚶‍♀️. In 20 years, she sees herself in a role where she can continue to make an impact 🌟. Her biggest inspiration is her grandfather, who never lost his curiosity and drive to keep learning and asking questions 📚✨. Her top bucket list destination?
