As he noted, succession failures are rarely failures of the successor—they are failures of the system the successor inherits. Drawing on his experience developing leadership programs for the Royal Office of Bhutan, Adrian showed that the goal is not to prepare a successor, but to create a leadership sandbox where founders and the next generation learn, share responsibility, and grow together long before leadership is formally transferred.
