Training completed, Capability still inconsistent. Engineering leaders see this often in Defence Support and other high-consequence environments. A report shows the course was done, the certificate is filed, but when pressure hits, the same small errors return. You may recognise the signs: π The same issues repeat after refresher training π Tasks are done one way on paper, another in practice π§βπ§ Teams rely on a few βgo-toβ people to rescue difficult jobs π Handovers lose key context between shifts βοΈ Confidence drops after system or process changes The problem is simple. Training often becomes the target. Attendance and certificates are easy to measure. Real competence is harder to see.
