Five states. One week. A lot of heavy lifting, literally. Across NSW, VIC, QLD, SA and WA, Quest teams gave up a full day to roll up their sleeves at Foodbank Australia warehouses, and the work was not glamorous. It was physical, repetitive, and exactly the kind of thing that matters. Watermelons. Potatoes. Carrots. Box after box of pantry staples, Food for kids hampers, our team worked alongside Chef Melissa in the Community Kitchen, portioning and packaging MADE meals (Meals All Day Everyday) to help her reach her weekly target of close to 3,000 meals. Every item packed is a meal on a table for a family doing it tough this winter. Our Quest volunteers moved enough food to create more than 65,000 meals, across two states alone. NSW: 26,481 kg of food packed, 47,666 meals created VIC: 9,048 kg packed, 18,096 meals created QLD: 280 Food for Kids hampers packed WA: 930 MADE meals portioned and packaged Thank you to every Questie who proudly showed up and pulled on their gloves for this one. It truly reflects the heart of this network, the kind of people who don't just talk about community, they turn up for it.
