New Scientist asked the question directly: are useful, error-free quantum computers only two years away? We would rather engage the question than duck it. QuEra's plan puts Libra, our first fault-tolerant system, on Amazon Braket in 2028, with public targets of more than 256 logical qubits and a logical error rate near one in a million. "Error-free" is a somewhat incorrect phrase for it. The real number is one error in a million logical operations, and the article is right that hitting the date takes real engineering, not just ambition. The physics has been demonstrated in peer-reviewed work. Read the piece: https://buff.ly/VXXPvyH #QuantumComputing #NeutralAtoms
