🚆Train manufacturing building a giant leap for Queensland! Covering 30,000m2 and standing 13.6 metres tall at its highest point, the Torbanlea train manufacturing building is a marvel of engineering. To put its size in perspective, it’s big enough to fit two Suncorp Stadium-sized playing fields under its roof. With specialised production zones for steel fabrication, bogie construction, and more, the building will produce a total of 65 new six-car passenger trains for South East Queensland travellers in the coming years. And with 2,639 solar panels on its roof, it’s as sustainable as it is large. The manufacturing building is part of a sprawling, 130-hectare facility being constructed 25km north of Maryborough. The facility also includes an administration building, car parks, testing facilities, and a North Coast rail line connection. It will strengthen the region’s proud history of train manufacturing, creating nearly 300 local jobs during peak operations and providing training and business opportunities for the Butchulla People, the native title holders of the area. Part of the Department of Transport and Main Roads Train Manufacturing Program, the 24/7 facility will be operational this year and all 65 six-car trains are expected to be in service by 2032. 📹Check out the Torbanlea train facility fly-through video here: https://lnkd.in/djcdssP3 👉Get the latest construction updates here: https://lnkd.in/g7B2MWMp #QTMP #MadeInQLD #Trains #RegionalGrowth #Manufacturing #DeliveringForQueensland
