Plot twist: one of the most powerful literacy tools this term doesn't involve a screen. š The 2026 Premier's Reading Challenge starts 11 May, inviting young Queenslanders from Prep to Year 9 are invited to dive in. It's not a competition ā it's a chance for students to build confidence, spark curiosity, and fall in love with stories. The kind of reading habit that shows up in every classroom, across every subject. š Here's what the Challenge looks like by year level: š¹ Prep to Year 2: read or experience 20 books š¹ Years 3 to 4: read 20 books š¹ Years 5 to 9: read 15 books Every child who finishes earns a Certificate of Achievement š Even the youngest readers can take part through their early childhood centre. The reading period ends on 28 August. Encourage your school to get involved today: https://lnkd.in/gJwwWkXb #QLDPRC #PremiersReadingChallenge #ReadingHeroes
