Last week Queen Mary University of London alumni, staff and students came together for a brilliant evening of community, heritage and achievement to celebrate Founders’ Day 2026. Now in its third year, the event continues to bring people together to reflect on Queen Mary’s founding institutions, while celebrating the impact of its alumni, staff and students today. A real highlight was the presentation of honorary degrees to outstanding alumni, recognising their contributions across science, economics and public life. Jo Parker-Swift and Gerard Lyons. The evening also showcased the breadth of Queen Mary’s world-leading research and innovation, from sustainability and climate change to medical technology, reflecting the global impact of the University’s work. A wonderful reminder of the strength and spirit of our community, which has existed in East London for over 240 years. #FoundersDay #Alumni #ResearchImpact #HigherEducation
