Top Honours for QE Engineers at the EDT Gold Project Celebration - We are delighted to celebrate the outstanding achievements of two QE student teams at the EDT (Engineering Development Trust) Industrial Cadets Gold Project Celebration and Awards Ceremony, held at University College London on 2 July 2026. Over the past nine months, our students have worked alongside industry mentors and business partners as part of the Engineering Education Scheme (EES), hosted by the University of Cambridge and sponsored by EDT. The programme challenges students to tackle real-world engineering, product development, and innovation projects. Team OVERBURY – Dan Ji Chan, Abhinav Sandeep and Hasnain Jiwa – developed a wearable solution for construction workers and were recognised with the Innovation Award. Team MORGAN LOVELL – Ayush Saha, Zane Shah and Haadi Siddiqui – designed a prototype sound sensor potentiometer and were awarded the Business Pitch Award. The EDT Gold Project Celebration is a flagship STEM event, bringing together students, educators and industry professionals to recognise exceptional engineering talent and innovation. Congratulations to both teams on these fantastic achievements. As Technology Teacher @Tony Green, said: “I am immensely proud of our QE Engineers. Their awards win is the culmination of hard work, perseverance and mentorship. . I would like to thank the EES Gold Project at the University of Cambridge, and our industry sponsor Mr Alex Wood, Health, Safety and Wellbeing Manager at Morgan Lovell. Mr Wood represents two of the leading companies in the construction industry: Morgan Lovell plc, specialists in the design and building construction of commercial buildings; and Overbury plc, the UK's leading fit out specialist who have been working with us.”   #Engineering #STEM #BeyondTheClassroom #QEFlourish
