🛡️ Quantum computing is creating new opportunities for cybersecurity. From quantum-safe infrastructure to quantum-enhanced machine learning, researchers and industry are exploring how quantum technologies can complement existing approaches and address real-world challenges. At VivaTech 2026, during a panel discussion with Orange Business, Orange Cyberdefense, Cisco and Quandela, Marie Soustelle, Sales Manager at Quandela, shared how Quandela and Orange Innovation are exploring a quantum machine learning use case for malware classification. 💡 Rather than replacing classical AI, the project adds a quantum layer to an existing machine learning workflow, exploring how quantum processing can complement today's approaches. Depending on the problem, the dataset and the performance metrics being evaluated, the approach may help: • Improve the precision of malware classification; • Train machine learning models with less data; • Explore new ways to address problems that are difficult to solve using classical methods alone. This is particularly relevant because malware evolves rapidly. Models often need to distinguish malicious software from legitimate programs despite having a limited number of samples, making data efficiency especially important. The discussion also highlighted a broader point about how practical quantum computing is more than developing quantum hardware. It is about exploring real industrial use cases to better understand where quantum technologies can complement existing methods and deliver practical value. As Orange explained, learning by using quantum computers on real use cases is an important step toward future adoption. 👉 Watch the full discussion here: https://lnkd.in/ef4TKUeg Vivien Mura Jean-Charles Griviaud Benjamin Vigouroux Tony Quertier Adam Ouorou Lyse Brillouet Grégoire Barrué, PhD Valerian Giesz Niccolo Somaschi Jean Senellart Pascale Senellart Xavier Pereira François Bitouzet Maya Noël Romain Roullois Julie Huguet Clara Chappaz #QuantumComputing #HPC #HybridComputing #Photonics #Cybersecurity
