"The largest skills gaps aren't technical, but human. Closing the gap is a shared responsibility between us all." That was one of the key messages from the launch of the QS World Future Skills Index 2027 at the QS Higher Ed Summit: Europe 2026 in Budapest, presented by QS Senior Vice President Ben Sowter to more than 600 higher education leaders and policymakers. The findings highlighted how economies are performing across skills alignment, academic readiness, the future of work and economic transformation, and what this means for universities navigating rapid labour market change.
