We are consuming our future. Today marks Earth Overshoot Day for Türkiye. In other words, if everyone in the world lived at Türkiye’s level of consumption, the natural resources that the Earth can regenerate in one year would have been exhausted by today. The planet’s capacity to renew itself has already been exceeded within the first half of the year. For the remainder of the year, we will be consuming resources that belong to the future. Reversing this trend depends directly on how we produce, how we consume, and the solutions we choose to implement.
