What happens when water monitoring experts from across Queensland come together to share knowledge, strengthen capability and shape the future of their work? 💧 Earlier this month, water monitoring staff from our North Region, South Region and Hydrometric Operations teams visited Brisbane for their first workshop together since 2017. From early-career hydrographers to those with more than 50 years’ service, the workshop enabled our staff to: 📚 share knowledge 🤝 develop relationships 🦺 build on our strong safety culture 🔭 plan for now and into the future. Staff were encouraged to ‘be the change’, and use emerging technologies such as photo velocimetry, doppler and satellite monitoring to complement conventional approaches. Discussions also focused on specialised work including PFAS sampling and GAB monitoring. We’re proud to see our teams coming together to plan and meet future challenges. By working collaboratively, we’re ensuring Queensland’s water monitoring remains accurate, reliable and relevant – delivering better outcomes for our communities, environment and future generations.
