We’re in Julia Creek this week for the annual Great Artesian Basin Advisory Council meeting. 🚰 The meeting discusses arising issues and opportunities within the Great Artesian Basin while connecting with industry and stakeholders. The Council is made up of representatives from agricultural, commercial, environmental, First Nations, and local government sectors who provide advice to the Minister for Water on the sustainable management of the Basin. The Great Artesian Basin supplies water to more than 80 regional Queensland towns and supports industries including farming, mining, tourism and geothermal power who combined, provide $22.6 billion to the state’s economy each year. Keep an eye out as we provide updates from work done this year in the Great Artesian Basin Rehabilitation Program over the next few weeks!
