Good news for 11 Indigenous councils and communities across the Cape York region! We’re delivering an additional $2 million in funding to support projects that will drive economic development into the future. The Indigenous Cape Communities Economic Development Fund provides targeted support for Aurukun Shire Council, Napranum Aboriginal Shire Council, Hope Vale Aboriginal Shire Council, Pormpuraaw Aboriginal Shire Council, Kowanyama Aboriginal Shire Council, Torres Strait Island Regional Council, Lockhart River Aboriginal Shire Council, Wujal Wujal Aboriginal Shire Council, Yarrabah Aboriginal Shire Council, and Northern Peninsula Area Regional Council. Projects will help improve opportunities for businesses, jobs, investment, cultural and community programs or other initiatives that contribute to local economic outcomes.
