QCPD’s MUST SEE 🔍 | UPR Recommendations to Qatar As part of our series “QCPD’s MUST SEE,” we continue to spotlight key recommendations from Qatar’s 4th Universal Periodic Review (2024–2025) — ensuring they remain visible and relevant beyond the review process. 💡 This week’s spotlight is on Recommendation No. 170.143. Why does this matter? Effective labour protections are fundamental to safeguarding workers from exploitation and abuse. Fair wages, accessible pathways to change employment, protection for domestic workers and meaningful access to grievance mechanisms all contribute to ensuring that work is carried out in conditions of dignity, safety and respect for human rights. Strengthening these protections also supports more inclusive and resilient labour markets, reinforces trust in institutions and promotes sustainable economic development. Ensuring that all workers can access justice and exercise their rights without fear benefits society as a whole. This recommendation aligns closely with QCPD’s commitment to advancing decent work, preventing exploitation, strengthening labour rights and promoting human dignity for all workers. Because protecting workers’ rights is not only a legal obligation — it is essential to building sustainable societies. ♻️ #QCPDGlobal #QCPDMustSee #UPR #UniversalPeriodicReview #HumanRights #LabourRights #ForcedLabour #MigrantWorkers #DomesticWorkers #WorkersRights #FreedomOfAssociation #AccessToJustice #DecentWork #HumanDignity #SocialJustice #UnitedNations #Qatar #USA
