QCPD’s MUST SEE 🔍 | UPR Recommendations to Qatar As part of our series “QCPD’s MUST SEE,” we continue to spotlight key recommendations from Qatar’s 4th Universal Periodic Review (2024–2025) — ensuring they remain visible and relevant beyond the review process. 💡 This week’s spotlight is on Recommendation No. 170.137. Why does this matter? Domestic workers often operate in isolated and unregulated environments, leaving them particularly vulnerable to exploitation, abuse, and exclusion from basic labour protections. As a workforce predominantly composed of women, they may face heightened risks of gender-based violence and discrimination. The lack of full integration into formal labour protection frameworks can mean limited access to legal recourse, social protections, and oversight mechanisms for instance. This is often compounded by their presence in informal or weakly regulated sectors, where accountability is minimal and rights violations can go unnoticed or unaddressed. This recommendation aligns closely with QCPD’s commitment to advancing labour rights and protecting those most at risk of being left behind. Because making these issues visible ensures no worker remains invisible. ♻️ #QCPDGlobal #QCPDMustSee #UPR #UniversalPeriodicReview #HumanRights #LabourRights #DomesticWorkers #GenderEquality #WomensRights #DecentWork #WorkersRights #HumanDignity #SocialJustice #Accountability #unitednations #SierraLeone
