What’s happening around us, and how did we get here? Recent years have left many of us with the same feeling: a world that seems more unstable, more fragmented, and harder to read than before. From geopolitical tensions to economic slowdown in Europe, the signals are increasingly difficult to ignore. Growth is diverging, investment patterns are shifting, and long-standing assumptions about stability and progress are being tested. In that context, the question of Europe's competitiveness, and Luxembourg's role within it, becomes more pressing. These themes were at the heart of the 19th Journée de l’Economie, held at the Chamber of Commerce in Luxembourg City, where discussions focused on sovereignty, resilience, and whether long-term stability is still achievable in an interconnected world.
