Some journeys are measured not by the miles travelled, but by the change they help bring about. At Shilp Sheher in Karanpur village, Kondagaon, our Inclusion & Diversity Leader, Shveta Verma, met 30 women artisans as part of an ongoing livelihood programme supported by the PwC India Foundation (PwCIF) early this year. In collaboration with Saathi Samaj Sevi Sanstha, the initiative is designed to enable and encourage these practitioners of the traditional Dhokra metal casting technique. Through discussions and shared experiences, the visit served as an opportunity to reflect and learn for everyone involved. “This was one of those visits that stays with you long after it ends,” said Shveta. As these women artisans build new skills and confidence, they are not only improving their own livelihoods but also inspiring other women in their communities to explore new possibilities. Going beyond skill development, our initiative focuses on enabling choice, financial security, and long-term empowerment. Because when one woman moves forward, she often takes many others along with her. #womenempowerment #PwCIF #womenartisans | Jaivir Singh
