How can digital infrastructure create visible and lasting benefits for local communities? This was an important theme during the recent Environmental Audit Committee session, where our Non-Executive Director Dame Dawn Childs DBE FREng discussed community partnerships and local engagement with Members of Parliament, including Sarah Gibson MP. Sarah highlighted the value of stronger communication and engagement at an early stage, alongside ensuring that community contributions deliver meaningful local outcomes rather than disappearing into broader funding mechanisms. At Pure DC, we believe data centres should create visible, lasting value in the communities where they operate. Whether that's supporting skills and employability programmes, improving biodiversity, creating green spaces, or working with local schools and organisations, the focus should be on initiatives that local people can see, experience and benefit from directly. Digital infrastructure is a long-term investment. Building strong partnerships with local communities should be part of that commitment from day one. #DataCentres #DigitalInfrastructure #Infrastructure
