"Karma Yoga is the spiritual practice of selfless action performed without attachment to the results." We conclude the deal in an air-conditioned office. The seafarer executes the very same deal — thousand of miles away, on a steel deck, in a conflict-adjacent sea lane, away from everyone they love. And here is the part we rarely say out loud: every efficiency gain they deliver on that voyage flows straight into our commercial bottom line. Not theirs. If they carry our trade and our risk while the gain accrues to us, then giving them the right tools and resources to execute well isn't charity. It's the deal being honored at both ends. This Day of the Seafarer, the IMO's line is exact: "Carrying world trade. Carrying the risks." We write the policy. 1.9 million seafarers turn it into practice. I've written this article about why the seafarer, in my opinion, a true epitome of a Karm Yogi, sits at the center of every role I hold — as CCO of FrontM President of Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers, Director of Maritime NXT, Director of Netbulk . and Lecturer on Geopolitics. They are running the same deal we concluded. It is time we ran it with them. 🌊 #DayOfTheSeafarer #Seafarers #CrewWelfare #MaritimeNXT #Shipping #ICS #MaritimeIndustry #Geopolitics Arsenio Dominguez John Lloyd FNI Krishnan Subramaniam FICS Marc Buchholz FICS MBA Natalia Margioli, FICS Robert Hill FICS Kiran Venkatesh Ankush Khanna Anne-Marie Barclay Venkateshwar R.
