Not every critical component gets talked about. The DCU is one of them.   Our Disconnect Control Unit handles engine disconnect in hybrid and electric drivetrains, and the engineering behind it is worth a closer look.   It is completely isolated from the transmission system with its own independent lubrication chamber, which simplifies integration and reduces contamination risk. It also uses an end-face tooth structure for high torque transmission capacity and enhanced torque adaptability.   Compared to conventional electromagnetic disengagement mechanisms, it reduces energy consumption by up to 18%.   It is a bistable electromagnetic design, meaning it holds its engaged or disengaged state without continuous power draw.
