"Can you refer me?" This is one of the most common messages I receive on LinkedIn. Most of the time, the message includes a resume and one line: "Can you please refer me?" I genuinely want to help whenever I can. But here's the problem... I don't know which role you want to apply for. A referral isn't something we can submit without a specific job opening. We need a Job ID or job link to refer you for the right position. Interestingly, whenever I reply with, "Sure, please send me the Job ID or the job link," Many conversations just... end there. If you're reaching out to someone for a referral, make it easy for them to help you. Include: πŸ‘‰ The Job ID or job link πŸ‘‰ The role you're applying for πŸ‘‰ A short introduction about yourself πŸ‘‰ Your updated resume If you can't find a suitable opening, that's okay too. Just ask politely if they know of any relevant roles instead of sending only your resume. A small effort from your side can make it much easier for someone to help you. #job #corporate #work #resume #referral
