An opportunity now exists in the Department of Defence for the position of Civil Defence Trainers. Civil Defence is a Branch of the Department of Defence responsible for the overall strategic direction of Civil Defence in Ireland, and for the delivery of training, on a national basis. Civil Defence provides a support service to the following Principal Response Agencies (PRAs): Local Authority An Garda Síochána Health Service Executive/National Ambulance Service Civil Defence College is an integral part of the Civil Defence Branch and is the National Training Centre for Civil Defence and now have the following vacancies at Higher Executive Officer (HEO) level: Civil Defence Trainer - Medical & Governance Civil Defence Trainer - General Reporting to an Assistant Principal Officer, the Civil Defence Trainers will have responsibility for the development and delivery of courses within the Civil Defence College based in either Civil Defence College, Benamore, Roscrea, Co.
