An opening now exists in the Office of Public Works for the position of Head of Art Management. The OPW is responsible for the management of the State Art Collection through its Art Management Office. This public owned art collection, which consists of 13,500 artworks, is the most widely dispersed public owned art collection in Ireland with over 80% of the Collection on display at any one time. This is an opportunity for a highly experienced professional with significant knowledge of contemporary Irish art, extensive curatorial expertise, and an established background in public art commissions, to utilise their expertise and management skills in a public sector role that promotes a high performance culture and a commitment to supporting the arts in Ireland. As a senior leader, the Head of Art Management will be required to direct the strategic management of the OPW’s Art Management Office. They will also be responsible for art acquisitions and public art commissions and will provide a high level of objectivity and independence in the provision of advice to OPW’s clients on commissioning art projects.
