Publica is heading to this year’s Festival of Place, joining urban design leaders from across the UK for a day of inspiring talks, creative workshops and vital conversations about the future of our cities. Our team is leading a talk and participative workshop at the conference, hosted by The Developer on 10 June, sharing insights on civic placemaking, creative engagement and the importance of listening to lived experience. Founding Director Lucy Musgrave OBE RDI Hon FRIBA will deliver one of the keynote talks ‘City making as a cultural act’, followed by a Q&A chaired by Christine Murray, Editor-in-Chief, The Developer and Director, Festival of Place. Lucy will be presenting following Chris Boardman CBE, Active Travel Commissioner for England and Leslie Kern, author of Feminist City. Director of CIC Ellie Cosgrave and Urban Designer Tunde Oyebode will lead a place poetry workshop alongside Eve Holt, Head of Policy & Implementation, Greater Manchester Combined Authority. This session is informed by Audre Lorde’s seminal essay ‘Poetry Is Not a Luxury’, exploring how poetry can express our shared experience of place, give form to what we already feel, and shape a vision that exists just ahead of us, ready to be spoken into being.  We’re looking forward to seeing you there. ---- #Publica #FestivalofPlace #Citymaking #AudreLorde #CreativeEngagement The Developer and Festival of Place
