It was our honour to welcome the newly appointed British Ambassador to Italy, Stephen Hickey, to our Milan HQ. From visiting our R&D labs with Luca De Rai and Stefano Franchi Bononi, to discussions with our leadership team - including Massimo Battaini, Raul Gil, Marcello Del Brenna and Cristina Bifulco, it was an opportunity to share everything we are doing for the UK’s energy security, digitalisation, and how we are proud to be the UK’s leading cable manufacturer. From our manufacturing sites in England and Wales, our Transmission offices in London and Glasgow and the Middlesbrough Marine Base - which is the world’s leading centre for cable burial technology - the UK isn’t just a place to do business, it’s also part of who we are. And has been for generations. And we are leaving our mark - did you know the Guinness World Record for submarine energy cable length is the groundbreaking Viking Link project connecting the UK to Denmark. And even further back in time - thanks to our long history in the UK - we made the country’s first ever transatlantic telegraph connection. More is coming - from upgrading the UK’s grid, bringing more renewables online - we are investing in the UK and British jobs to help achieve the British government’s energy ambitions, and we are eager to do more. Thank you, Stephen Hickey CMG and the entire UKinItaly team - we were very proud to welcome you and share our story with you. And Prysmian wishes you the best of luck with your new role.
