We are very pleased to share that we have achieved a Lawful Development Certificate this week, to enable the existing car parking at the City of Oxford College (Oxpens Campus) to lawfully be used by the public during the weekends and out of term time. The certificate provides a really positive outcome for our client, who can continue to generate an income from the parking, which is reinvested in its education programmes, as well as provide employment opportunities via the operation of the car park for students and staff. Substantial evidence was submitted to the Council, involving significant work by our team in collaboration with the College Estates Team to demonstrate that the use has been continuous and uninterrupted for over 10 years. We previously went through an appeal to establish that extant planning conditions did not preclude this use of the campus parking, and that provided the foundation for the certificate. Carl Simpson, Property and Environment Manager said “this is a great result for the College, as the extra income from our use of the parking spaces outside of teaching days is so beneficial for the education services we provide. Pro Vision did a very patient and professional job in helping us to ensure this arrangement is lawful and can continue.
