Thrilled to see our lead article for the special issue on Co-creating Equitable, Diverse and Inclusive Tourism, now published open access in the Journal of Sustainable Tourism (Q1, IF: 7.8; ABDC: A*; ABS: 3). Drawing on 287 studies across five decades, we show that EDIB research often examines lived experiences, organisational practices, and structural inequalities separately. Our layered ontological framework connects these levels, helping researchers move beyond describing inequality to explaining how it is produced, reproduced, and transformed. We also bring together the special issue contributions from workplace inclusion and disability to gender, LGBTQ+ experiences, representation, and co-creation and uses the framework to guide a more intersectional, participatory, multi-level, and globally inclusive research agenda. Happy to see this year-long collaboration come to fruition and to have applied my critical realism learning from my time at the University of Surrey. Had a great time working with Albert Kimbu Yoo Ri Kim Sumeetra Ramakrishnan Bora Kim and exploring all the fascinating rabbit holes along the way. Happy reading: https://lnkd.in/geFgQwMH
