On perimeter sites near busy roads, the optical channel hits its physical limits: headlight glare, shadows, fog, and animal movement drive the false-alarm rate up and bury real events. For a European surveillance supplier, we solved this by adding an independent sensing channel instead of upgrading the cameras. A compact mmWave radar module (TI IWR6843, custom FR4 antenna array) that integrates with the existing VMS over a standard interface. On-device processing is split across the IWR6843 DSP and a companion processor, and an alert fires only when radar and camera agree. Results on sites previously unusable for analytics: ๐ธFalse alarms reduced to near zero ๐ธDetection range up to 100 m for vehicles ๐ธOperator workload down 70% ๐ธZero changes to the existing camera fleet ๐งท Read the full case study, or contact us if you need help adding a radar channel to your camera or security product:ย https://lnkd.in/dyvFdiRw #mmWave #SensorFusion #EmbeddedSystems #EdgeAI #PromwadCase
