Summer Game Fest, aka Geoff Keighley's big money pit, graced us with its glitzy, over-the-top presence last week and we all had a blast sitting through it wondering what surprises were in store for us. Here are some picks from the event that stopped us in our tracks. š½ Alien: Isolation 2 - Being huge, huge fans of the first game and the Alien brand as a whole, the opportunity to go back to another masterful execution in highly tense, terrifying game-play from Creative Assembly again puts this right at the top of our list. https://lnkd.in/ezdC482X šÆ Crossfire - We'd been keeping an eye on That's No Moon for some time and the reveal of their first title certainly impressed. Boasting some highly detailed characters and environments, it also showed off a (potentially game changing) mechanic for cover-based combat. With ex-The Boys' Claudia Doumit and ex-Hollyoaks' Ricky Whittle playing the leads, we can't wait to see more. https://lnkd.in/eaR9VVFU šļø Star Wars: Galactic Racer - Now this is podracing! There is something undeniably joyous about what Fuse Games have worked up for this game. The DNA of the Burnout series clearly flows through through this ex-Criterion dev team and the idea of racing the Boonta Eve Special in glorious 4K has us giddier than Jar Jar Binks. https://lnkd.in/eae74aFF šā⬠1666 Amsterdam - If you'd have told us the original creator of Assassin's Creed was going to work on a 17th century dark story-driven game where you play as a witch with a familiar black cat called Aaron, we'd have assumed you yourself were a witch. Any cat-based gameplay is a win in our book and we're just about to download the prologue that Panache Digital Games have shared on Steam. https://lnkd.in/eWdssSbn āµ Last Harbor - Surviving a zombie apocalypse itself sound hard and this game also throws in the fact you're stranded on a boat during the outbreak, that is certainly less than convenient. tinyBuild GAMES have sold us on the idea of a mobile base that you can work on with pals, and we're already planning our excursions to land. https://lnkd.in/egeUfQzz Also, it wasn't directly at SGF, but Exodus from Archetype Entertainment is very, very much something we want to be a part of. What did you enjoy at the show?
