The two-day regional workshop on financing surgical care held in Colombia, wrapped up over the weekend. This event coincided with CAF's launch of an Impact Investment Fund in Latin America and the Caribbean (FIIALC) -which aims to mobilize up to USD 150 million - highlighting the timeliness and regional alignment of this convening. In multi-stakeholder design sessions, experts explored legal and regulatory frameworks, concrete opportunities to tap into emerging innovative finance instruments and private sector across the region. These collaborations will continue on the global stage at the upcoming World Health Assembly, where partners will build on this regional dialogue to advance surgical system strengthening as a core component of universal health coverage.
