A truly unique feeling. One week, I had the honour to mentor medical students at the University of Mainz, guiding them through heart auscultation on the simulator — transferring knowledge and experience to the next generation. A few days later, I was being trained myself at the Edwards Lifesciences Headquarters in Munich on the Evoque Valve — a system we have been working with for the past three years, yet still evolving with new tips, techniques and continuous simulation-based learning. This contrast is exactly what I love in our field: we teach, and we learn — simultaneously. We give, and we receive — continuously.
