The Care Taker ❤️ This video perfectly captures why Jürgen Klopp has been such a successful leader throughout his career. In the Prime Video & Amazon MGM Studios documentary, “Doubters to Believers Liverpool FC: Klopp's Era,” one of Klopp's closest friends describes him as a caretaker. Someone who genuinely looks after the people around him. Klopp builds authentic relationships. He leads with empathy, shows genuine care, and takes a real interest in the wellbeing of everyone around him. He has never coached Kylian Mbappé, although he tried to sign him for Liverpool. Yet in this clip, you can immediately see how relaxed Klopp makes Mbappé feel. He even waves to Mbappé's mother in the crowd, having first met her when they travelled together on a private jet during transfer discussions. Klopp said: “We flew from Blackpool to Nice. In Nice, the entire Mbappe family boarded a private jet with five rooms or something. We really went all out. Then we flew around in a circle, talked with the family, ate good food. We flew in a circle. It was fantastic. And then he went to Paris." Moments like these help explain why so many former players speak so highly of Klopp and why they were willing to give everything for him on the pitch. What truly sets Klopp apart is his human skills. Human skills are the ability to build meaningful relationships, communicate effectively, understand different perspectives, and create an environment built on trust. When players, coaches, medical staff, and performance teams feel valued, respected, and heard, they are far more likely to thrive. People don't just commit to a vision or a badge, they commit to leaders who make them feel that they matter, are believed in, and genuinely cared for. That's one of Jürgen Klopp's greatest strengths.
