The Kerala Model Nobody Talks about-Balagopal Chandrasekhar Sir speaks in a Podcast Sri. Balagopal.C is an Indian industrialist and former civil servant. He joined the IAS in 1977 after studying economics at Loyola College, Chennai, and served in Manipur before resigning from the civil service in 1983 to found Peninsula Polymers (Penpol), a biomedical device manufacturer near Thiruvananthapuram. After liberalization, the company merged with a Japanese partner in 1999 to form Terumo Penpol Ltd., which became one of the largest blood bag manufacturers in the world, exporting to over 50 countries. He sold his stake in 2012. He has since served as Chairman of the Board of Federal Bank Ltd. and as Chairman of the Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC).
