Vietnam Launches Carbon Exchange On June 29, the Ministry of Finance, in coordination with the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, officially launched Vietnam’s Domestic Carbon Exchange. As a new component of the country’s green finance ecosystem, the exchange is expected to unlock new channels for mobilizing and allocating capital to sustainable development projects. Beyond facilitating the trading of greenhouse gas emission allowances and carbon credits, the Carbon Exchange will help establish a market-based carbon pricing mechanism. This is expected to create stronger economic incentives for businesses to proactively invest in technological innovation, improve energy efficiency, reduce emissions, and enhance their long-term competitiveness. This milestone marks an important step in Vietnam’s transition toward a low-carbon economy and reinforces the country’s commitment to sustainable growth and climate action.
