HUE REDUCES NEARLY 1,000 TONS OF PLASTIC WASTE Once facing significant pressure from plastic waste, Huế is gradually emerging as a model low‑plastic city in Central Viet Nam. Over five years of implementing the “Hue – A Plastic-Reducing City in Central Vietnam” (TVA Project), the city has adopted a range of integrated solutions, including waste segregation at source, enhanced collection systems, and strengthened community awareness. Launched in 2021, the TVA Project is funded by the Government of Norway through WWF‑Norway and WWF‑Viet Nam, and implemented under the leadership of the Huế People’s Committee. The project aims to protect rivers, wetlands, and coastal ecosystems from plastic pollution while positioning Huế as a leading low‑plastic urban model in the Central region.
