The recognition of the Netherlands Childhood Cancer Registry (NKKR) as a quality registry by the Dutch National Health Care Institute marks an important step towards better care for children with cancer. It formally acknowledges the NKKR as a tool for data-driven care evaluation and provides a crucial foundation for continuous improvement.   For the first time, the NKKR brings together tumor-specific data and links them to internationally recognized outcome indicators. This helps healthcare professionals compare outcomes, learn from previous treatments, and further improve care.   Dr. Wouter Kollen, pediatric oncologist and Director of Medical Care at the Princess Máxima Center, says: ‘The NKKR provides healthcare professionals with important information about childhood cancer and its short- and long-term consequences. This enables us to monitor and continuously improve both survival and quality of life.’ Zorginstituut Nederland
