“'Reader, Come Home" addresses beautifully and persuasively what may be the single most important question for incoming students at Princeton University: Why should we continue to read long, demanding books when short summaries are easily obtained?" Students in the Class of 2030 will begin receiving their copies of this year's Pre-read, “Reader, Come Home: The Reading Brain in a Digital World” by Maryanne Wolf. During Orientation, they will discuss its themes with President Christopher Eisgruber and Wolf at the Pre-read Assembly during Orientation. “Deep, immersive reading is at the heart of a Princeton education. We are most likely to read books fully and well only if we understand why they offer us something distinctive, valuable, and irreplaceable.” Read the full announcement from the spring: https://bit.ly/4eX8CV2
