Hot take: the annual performance review is the worst time to recognise someone. By the time you've scheduled the meeting, filled out the form and sat across a desk from someone, the moment has passed. Recognition works when it's: ✓ Timely (within 24–48 hours of the behaviour) ✓ Specific (name the action, not just the outcome) ✓ Genuine (it has to feel real, not ticked off a list) The companies with the best cultures don't wait for the calendar. They recognise in the moment. Do you agree? Or is the annual review still the right place for recognition? 💬 Learn how to build a real-time recognition culture → https://lnkd.in/gp_wuvjm RecognitionCulture #EmployeeExperience #HotTake #PeopleAndCulture #HRLeadership
